ABOUT THE PROJECT

Acelga Quintett takes us onto a musical journey. It’s a reflection of the here and now, it is their quest for a flow-state when playing together, breathing air into wooden instruments.

"Acelga" is not only the Spanish name for the vitamin-rich, invigorating Swiss chard, but also the name of an equally energetic wind quintet.

How does one visualise the feelings music evokes? We juxtapose the elegant, refined style of classical music with the urban environments the musicians navigate between gigs. No matter the roughness of the surroundings, music carries you, like a warm wind, through any phase of life. Acelga strives to convey this sentiment to their audience at every single performance.
